A blog (i.e. weblog) is a staff member, student, departmental, or school web site composed of short posts that are arranged chronologically. 4J uses blog software by WordPress. WordPress has a complete online set of documentation on how to use the WordPress blog software. This documentation can be found at WordPress User Documentation. There are also links to instructions below.

To start learning about blogs, log into the 4J blog server. Click on this link to get to the 4J Blog home page (when you click that link, it will open a separate browser tab/window). The 4J Blog home page is important for two reasons:

  • 1. This page contains the Terms of Use - this information is very important, please read it to make sure you follow appropriate use rules.
  • 2. At the bottom of this page is a link Create a new blog. This link will allow you to create multiple blogs.





Logging Into the Blog Server:

  1. To get to the log in page for the 4J blog server, click this link: blogs.4j.lane.edu. It will open in a different tab or window so you can continue to read these instructions.

  2. First read the Terms of Use. When you have finished reading the Terms of Use, click the Login Here link:



  3. It will take you to the login page where you enter your 4J username and password and click the Log In button:



  4. Once you have logged in, start your exploration of the 4J Blog server with The 4J Blog instructions below. Following the instructions below sequentially will help you create, set up, add to, modify, and manage your blog.
